Prepare a Meal
We provide the kitchen. You provide the care. Volunteer groups can serve breakfast, lunch, or dinner by selecting a menu, purchasing ingredients, and preparing and packaging meals for families.
Short on time? Make a donation and we’ll handle the groceries and supplies while your group prepares and serves the meal.
Support families by catering a meal at our Ronald McDonald Houses. Meals must be prepared in a restaurant or commercial kitchen, individually packaged, and delivered by you or the restaurant.
Gather co-workers, friends, or family to assemble sack lunches so families always have a meal. You provide supplies, assemble at our Mueller House, and deliver lunches to our Family Rooms.

If a shift says “1 slot open”, that means one group can sign up for that meal. As the group leader, go ahead and claim it!
Once you sign up, your group members should also sign up for the same shift—even if it now says “Join the Waitlist.”
That just means the main slot is claimed. Our RMHC team will manually move your group members into the shift.

Maximum group size at Mueller House is 6 people. Maximum group size at Texas Children’s House is 4 people.
Volunteers will be required to wear gloves, a hairnet, and apron (all provided) during meal preparation.
Meal providers can choose to volunteer for a breakfast, lunch, or dinner shift at Mueller. Texas Children’s House shifts are for dinner only.
Continental Breakfast shifts at Mueller will begin at 8:00 a.m. and breakfast should be served by 9:00 a.m. for 20-25 people.
Lunch shifts at Mueller will begin at 10:00 a.m. and lunch should be served by 12:00 a.m. for 20-25 people.
Dinner shifts at Mueller will begin at 4:00 p.m. and dinner should be served by 6:00 p.m. for 25-30 people.
Dinner shifts at Texas Children’s House will begin at 4:00 p.m. and conclude at 7:00 p.m. for 15 people.
Brunch shifts (on Saturday & Sunday) at Mueller House will begin at 9:30 p.m. and brunch should be served by 11:30 p.m. for 20-25 people.
Volunteers at our Mueller House will need to prepare meals and individually package in single-serve containers.
Volunteers at our Texas Children’s House will serve buffet style until 6:45 and then individually package any remaining food into single serve containers.
